WARSAW takes its name from Warsaw, Kentucky.
Kentucky and Tennessee were the most common states of origin for early settlers in western Missouri counties. As a result, many Missouri towns, such as Lexington, Versailles, Lebanon, and Warsaw were named for the old Kentucky and Tennessee homesteads.
